Ola Electric has already received much flak for delayed deliveries. However, a recent tweet from CEO Bhavesh Aggarwal confirming that the company is ramping up production of its electric scooter to 1000 units per day should soothe the clamour.
Though the number is still significantly lower than the claimed annual capacity of 2 million units, it is a step in the right direction. Last month, Ola claimed to have dispatched nearly 4,000 S1 electric scooters.
The tweet also confirms that the company will commence the second round of sales, likely around the end of this month. With the production now ramped up, customers can expect speedy delivery through Ola’s unique ‘Direct-to-customer’ approach.

That said, there’s still no word on the OTA update for features like hill hold, cruise control, app connectivity, and voice assistant. Hopefully, the company will clear the air about this in the coming weeks.
