Ferrari has unveiled its latest One-Off creation, the SC40, based on the 296 GTB. The SC40 pays tribute to the legendary Ferrari F40 unveiled in July 1987, while forging a bold, modern identity of its own. With its sculpted proportions, carbon-Kevlar detailing, and exclusive SC40 White finish, this unique berlinetta blends heritage cues with modern performance and craftsmanship at the highest level.
What Makes the Ferrari SC40 Special?
The Ferrari SC40 is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece from the Special Projects programme, designed entirely around a single client’s vision. While it borrows its mid-rear V6 hybrid engine, chassis, and architecture from the 296 GTB, its design is entirely unique, inspired by the iconic Ferrari F40.
Its sharp lines, fixed rear wing, large triangular carbon-fibre intercooler housings on the sides, a central titanium-carbon exhaust crafted using additive manufacturing and bespoke SC40 White paint give it a distinctive identity.

All of this, along with the use of carbon-Kevlar inside and out, reinforces its blend of performance and craftsmanship. It’s a modern interpretation of Ferrari heritage, tailored down to the smallest detail.
Ferrari SC40 Exterior Design: Sculpted for Performance and Exclusivity
The Ferrari SC40’s exterior design is entirely unique, crafted to stand out while paying subtle homage to the F40. Its front features outer-cornered headlights integrated into black housings, connecting to a wide lower air intake. The side profile is dominated by large triangular carbon-fibre intercooler housings and smoked Lexan engine louvres.
At the rear, a high fixed wing, open-mesh fascia, and a central titanium-carbon exhaust showcase the car’s performance-focused design, with taillights that reference the 296 GTB but reinforce the SC40’s one-off identity.

The Ferrari lettering is rendered in negative on the rear engine cover, revealing the carbon beneath and adding a subtle yet striking brand signature. Aluminium fuel filler and charging caps, blacked-out rear separation lines, and exclusively designed diamond-cut wheels with black spokes complete the bespoke character.
Ferrari SC40 Interior: Sporty, Premium, and Uniquely Crafted
The Ferrari SC40’s interior combines lightweight performance materials with bespoke luxury to match its one-off exterior. Carbon-Kevlar is used extensively across the footwells, behind the seats, dashboard inserts, steering wheel, engine bay, and luggage compartment, providing strength and weight savings.
Seats feature a mix of Charcoal Alcantara and red Jacquard technical fabric, with the Prancing Horse on the headrests and the woven SC40 logo adding exclusivity. The cabin layout emphasises driver engagement, with purposeful ergonomics and subtle references to Ferrari heritage.

Ferrari SC40 Engine and Performance: Hybrid Power, Engineered for Excellence
The Ferrari SC40 is powered by the 296 GTB’s 3-litre V6 hybrid engine, producing 662 PS from the internal combustion engine and a combined 829 PS with the electric motor. It delivers 740 Nm of torque at 6,250 rpm, with a maximum rev of 8,500 rpm, paired with an 8-speed F1 DCT gearbox.
Performance is class-leading, with 0‑100 kmph in 2.9 seconds, 0‑200 kmph in 7.3 seconds, a top speed north of 330 kmph and a 200‑0 kmph stopping distance of just 107 metres. Grip and handling are supported by high-performance tyres measuring 245/35 ZR20 at the front and 305/35 ZR20 at the rear.

The car’s handling and stability are aided by advanced electronic systems, including eSSC, eTC, eDiff, SCM, EPS, and ABS Evo with energy recovery, ensuring maximum traction and precise control under all conditions. The titanium-carbon central exhaust and aerodynamic design further enhance both performance and driving experience.
ZigSays…
The Ferrari SC40 is a one-off masterpiece, with every detail, from its sculpted exterior and fixed rear wing to the driver-focused interior and titanium-carbon exhaust, reinforcing its exclusivity.
It perfectly marries Ferrari heritage with modern performance, showcasing the brand’s ability to turn a unique vision into a high-performance reality.
