Tata has just updated its Altroz hatchback with three new top-spec variants called the XZ LUX, XZ+S LUX and XZ+ O S (updated). They are priced between Rs 8.99 lakh and Rs 9.99 lakh for their petrol-manual variants and pack a whole lot of new features for the nameplate. This update has arrived alongside the launch of the sportier Altroz Racer, which also benefits from the new features. Here’s what the standard Altroz now gets with this update:

With the three new variants added in the lineup, the Altroz now features a 10.25-inch infotainment system, 360-degree camera, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and six airbags. However, it still misses out on ventilated seats that the Altroz Racer gets.

Features like automatic climate control, connected car tech, 8-speaker sound system, sunroof, wireless phone charger, auto headlamps and rain-sensing wipers continue as it is. Its safety kit now includes up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, and electronic stability control.

The XZ+ O S still is the top-spec trim of its lineup, but the XZ LUX variants now slot right below it. Here are their respective prices:

Variants

Petrol NA MT Prices*

XZ LUX (New)

Rs 9 lakh

XZ+S LUX (New)

Rs 9.65 lakh

XZ+OS (Upgraded)

*These prices are only for the NA petrol manual powertrain variants. The list will be updated once the full price list comes in.

Another point to note is that the standard Altroz only gets the NA petrol engine option, which puts out 88 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque. The turbo-petrol engine has been discontinued and replaced by the more powerful Nexon-sourced engine in the Altroz Racer. The 1.5-litre diesel continues without any changes. A 5-speed manual gearbox is standard, while the petrol also gets the option of a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The Altroz also gets a CNG option, more details about which can be found in this story.
