Q. Took a test drive of Hyundai i20 yesterday. The looks are good and the executive insisted to take Asta or Asta O version. But the on-road price is a bit high than Baleno. The front seats are great. Back seats are a bit cramped. Rest all are good. I specially liked the Alloy wheels design. Now coming to maintenance, the guy in the showroom said that the maintenance of i20 is almost the same like Baleno. But when the question to mileage came, he said that i20 will give almost 3-4 kmpl less than baleno. Is that true? He said that this is due to fact that i20 is a bit heavier than Baleno. So, is that true, Would like some inputs from someone who is already using a hyundai i20. thanks!

It's good car very good comfort level, good build quality materials used inside & outside of car but need to compromise with mileage of petrol i20. But one thing sure once you enter inside of car & drive it, you feel premium car like Audi driving experience. Performance wise car takes times to get pick up in 2nd gear, It easily go 60 - 100 km without any extra efforts very smoothly after 1500 - 2000 RPM. Need to say if you are looking for premium class with good comfort can go blindly with i20 but mileage wise slightly low compare to any Maruti vehicles... What else to say further.... As i have Elite i 20 Asta O Petrol 2017 model and driving busy Bangalore city traffic gets around 11 -12 km in city & highway around 14 - 16 km depends driving pattern. You can easily get around 14-15 km with smooth driving on highway & 12 km in city with full time Ac.Even i gets same till now. Maintenance come around 5- 7 thousands with service interval 10000 km.

Nishant, I am impressed with the build quality of i20 and recently saw a review on YouTube which says that the car protected the occupants well even after jumping from a flyover caused due to driver's negligence. It was then i decided to go for a test drive and got an opportunity to do it in this week. However, my only concern is mileage as i have a daily commute of 40kms. And my office has cut down fuel allowances from this year due to cost cutting initiatives. I asked the executive who showed me the vehicle. He said that the claimed ARAI mileage is 19.09 Kmpl. But at the same time he said that it might not be practical in city commute. And said that it will give 11-12 kms per liter if you drive proficiently with AC on. So, can you please let me know the approx. mileage of the vehicle from your 1 year usage experience....Thank You!

I am driving i20 from last 1 year and it feels amazing while driving. If you have less budget then go for sportz version. The major difference is that asta version has power start button (no key) and back mirror viper. So I prefer you that go for sportz version if you have less budget
