That's a tough one but as i have driven both cars and own one i think o might help you differentiate between this two and hopefully give you some basis to make your decisionSo let's start with the obvious differenceThat is brv is an old car and new ertiga is just a few months old in the marketErtiga is cheaper than brv and basically both are mpvs but i think brv is more of an estate car than a suv/mpv so brv handles a lot better than ertiga and ride quality is pretty neutral not too stiff nor too soft so because its suspension is setup in such a way brv's high-speed stability is really good, ertiga it rides good its ride quality is more in the softer side which is comfortable in city but on highway after certain speed rear of the car feels bouncy but if the car is loaded with passengers then it won't experience that on highway, since brv is older than ertiga got lot more features than brv, whereas for brv you can opt for optional touchscreen infotainment system with apple car play and Android auto for any variant whereas high features list on ertiga is limited to top two trim levels sk you have to pay a lot to get more, ertiga is slightly more spacious than brv but brv's 3rd row seating is more usable and even 2 adults can sit there for small journeys whereas ertiga 3rd row is limited for children only, now perfomance ertiga comes with 1.5-litre petrol engine which develops about 100 hp and 132nm of Torque and diesel engine of 1.3 litre develops 88hp and 200nm of Torque, so car would struggle to keep the pace up when its filled with passengers and their luggage on other side brv comes with legendary 1.5-litre vtec engine that develops 120 hp and 145nm of Torque and this engine is riot to drive it keeps pulling towards it redline like crazy acceleration is really good for car of this size and other engine that comes with brv is 1.5-litre diesel that's not so legendary and makes about 100 hp and 200 nm of Torque its a good engine but its loud and not refined. Well basically ertiga lies in the lower category to brv which will cost you about 13 lacs on road for top trim and brvs top trim will costs you about 15 lacs on road. In short ertiga is no more a cheap alternative to Toyota innova its now more capable more good looking and packed with decent features, whereas brv mpv that drives like a Sedan accelerates and handles as good as a Sedan and yes can sit 7 passengers for long trips without tiring any of with its easy drive ability. I would suggest if you want a proper 7 seater and occasionally take it on highway then close your eyes and buy ertiga in an heart but if like cruising on highways and go on to rough roads where not many cars can go and sit 7 passengers then brv is definitely one to consider but of you need a proper Suv and seats for 7 then there are other alternatives for example Tata hexa brilliant suv brilliant off roader, or xuv500 decent Suv with decent off roading capabilities.

Honda BR-V is a hands-on winner when you compare it with Ertiga. There are several factors that distinguish and keep it over the edge. The ride handling, comfort, fuel efficiency, ground clearance and of course space is unparalleled in this segment in BR-V. The third row of BR-V is fully usable for two adults or three children whereas Ertiga is crammed. Luggage space with all seat rows open in BR-V still let's you keep two cabin baggage with another couple of bags along.

Honda BRV anytime as it is car like in use ingress and egress and in matter of ground clearance it is as good as SUV 210mm further it has more of luggage space and third row space than Ertiga and it's a HONDA
