Anil | 4 years ago35 ReplyXUV300 W8 P engine failure My XUV300 W8 Petrol model is 2 year & 2 month old and so far traveled 18000km only. On ill & ungrateful day while driving on Yamuna expressway car suddenly stopped. There were no indications on dashboard before hand. Engine temperature & coolant level were ok.After arranging Toe vehicle I took my Vehicle to nearest Mahindra service center at Etawah. There after 2 days of diagnosis technical staff observed that one valve of Cylinder-1 is missing and Cylinder-1 piston is damaged badly (Photo is attached).Service center team took up this matter with Mahindra team. After 10 days Mahindra team concluded that 'Exact root cause can not be confirmed however it seems to be due to some particle came on the piston and caused this damage'.Matter ended with open ended diagnosis.Mahindra has not accepted that engine got failed due dislocation of valve or metallurgical failure of valve. How can engine of 18000km old Car fail like this. Engine parameters like coolant level and temperature were normal. There was no sign of water ingress into engine.Ultimately I have to buy new engine for my car worth around 1.7 Lakh.As i would never again in my life buy a Mahindra car after this kind of bad experience and i even regret buying one.Mahindra should do through analysis of this incident. It is either design defect or metallurgical failure.WHY SHOULD A CUSTOMER SUFFER BECAUSE OF THE MISTAKE OF YOUR DESIGN DEFECT OR METALLURGICAL FAILURE.

Exactly the same issue happened with my less than 1 year old and less than 7000 km driven xuv300 W8 option. It suddenly stopped on my way home having covered just 2 km.in the evening. I was alerted by passers by to a big cloud of white smoke emanating from the rear of the car. I was surprised that there was no warning or error sign . Had I been driving on a deserted street, wouldn’t have realised at all n the car could have caught fire. The car spent 45 days at the service centre, underwent a total engine replacement and zero diagnosis as to why it happened. Now after that day, I have noticed that on multiple occasions either on a slight slope on my regular route or in traffic congestion, it just shuts off. Worst part is you don’t even realise , till you press on the accelerator n it just does not move. Then you quickly need to move to neutral, restart n change to A and by this time the cars behind go crazy honking. Had an automatic Renault kwid earlier n trust me, that never shut down on its own. No issue with my Renault Koleos AT either. It is a serious engine fault which Mahindra needs to address. I was proud to own an Indian car but now , there’s nothing that I regret more. Cheated totally.

Saroj | 5 years ago6 Reply@ Yogesh | Facing transmission malfunction error in XUV 300 AMT W8 (O), any other is facing same issue with AMT?
Yes. In the morning time especially in cold condition auto shifting is not smooth . Even at times, shifting to second gear is happening after car achives 40 KM spped. MAhindra Technicians are replying this is how their AMT functions. Further a ringing sound comes when car takes pc=ick up. My XUV300 is not at all starting in the morning today. The car is hardly 1year 5 months ol;d. A poor vehicle
Kamal | 5 years ago4 ReplyI am facing the issue in Gear shifting in XUV-300 W8(O) petrol, manual. Specially when we switch gear 1 to 2 or vice versa... Its also vibrating heavily when not in proper gear... The experience is very pathetic and irritating engine also not so silent. Pickup is also a issue specially when you switch to 2 gear... Is any one also facing the same...?

DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO...once this lockdown ends have to take this with service centre...keep posting if you get anything...
Jaskamal | 3 years ago1 ReplyI have bought Mahindra Xuv 300 diesel W8 optional for my dad back in march 2023. We driven it for around 2500kms and I’m facing a huge issue as the car is turning off by itself after releasing the clutch completely. I’m experiencing this issue from last few days. I haven’t even done any electrical. This is a big issue for a brand new vehicle as there are many videos about this issues on youtube as well. Please think twice before buying any car from Mahindra. thank you

This is the same issue I am facing with my 1 month old xuv300 w6 autoshift vehicle . 2 times I have faced and 2nd time I was on slope and wrongly turned off by key and brake pedal was unuseful. Suddenly car started moving reversely and till I pulled the handbrake it has scratched by bumper on the wall. Now I am thinking to stop the auto start stop switch at the beginning to drive. Anyone has better idea please let me know . I am a new driver.
Benet | 4 years ago1 ReplyCritical issue of steering hardening and you cant drive it a step ahead or can take turn, After first service of 1000km issue started , when I try to start the car in morning its steering gets super hard ,first I thought it is locked ,but it was not ,than I think I might be not in correct mode 'comfort' but that is even not the issue .Service centre is not able to diagnose the issue even after 'error snap ' given.
Chheda | 5 years ago2 ReplyOn paper the car looks very powerfull, but after taking test drive it's very slow pick up, no power at low RPMs & clutch place function also very weird, without acceleration car doesn't move, not good car

Could you please give more details for “small cabin space” Part(not the boot), is it smaller than its competitors like venue, EcoSport Nexon ? I was under impression that the cabin space is good, but the compromise Is in the boot section, is that not right then ?
Nikesh | 4 years ago1 ReplyXUV 300 W6 Autoshift - Major issues in pick up... roll back on steep roads... in a week, the car automatically started shifting in neutral gear while driving, displaying the error 'Transmission Malfunction' on the dashboard screen

Pratik | 2 years ago0 ReplyTalking about Diesel vehicle maintenance is quite high. As some parts get problem time to time. e.g in 90000 km once alternator have to be repaired and once injectors got blocked so it has to be repaired
Optimus | 3 years ago1 ReplyI have been using W8(O) Automatic variant since 2019. I see no problem as of now. I'm able to get the mileage of 13-15 in city and 18-21 on highways. Loved the vehicle at such an attractive price range.

Nexon AMT also reported similar issues, get it checked at main TATA workshop , a software update should help it.
