Latest On Lamborghini Urus

Lamborghini has unveiled its second-ever SUV, the Urus. The Italian supercar maker has already confirmed that the Urus will go on sale globally by early next year and that it will launch in India on January 11, 2018.
Built on the MLB Evo platform, the Lamborghini Urus shares its underpinnings with the Bentley Bentayga, Porsche Cayenne and the Audi Q7. The Urus is powered by a 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 petrol engine that produces 650PS of maximum power and 850Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are handled by an 8-speed automatic transmission and power is sent to the road via an AWD system. The setup is enough for the 2.2-tonne SUV to complete the 0-100kmph sprint in just 3.6 seconds and hit a top speed of 305kmph.
Lamborghini has confirmed that it will introduce a plug-in hybrid variant of the Urus soon to comply with strict emission regulations in many parts of the world.

Lamborghini Urus Highlights

Available in a single V8 variant, Lamborghini Urus SUV retails in India at a price of Rs 3.00 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). The styling of Urus is sharp, tight, and ultramodern and the massive 21" alloys give it an intimidating demeanour. The cabin is built around the driver and despite long list of equipment; Lamborghini has made sure everything falls to hand easily. Powering the Lamborghini Urus is a 4.0-liter, V8 bi-turbo petrol engine which is a clear deviation from the otherwise naturally aspirated motors used by the company across the model range. This gasoline motor belt out 641 bhp along with humongous 850Nm and mated to an 8- speed automatic transmission. The gearbox sends the power to all the four wheels and the top speed of the SUV is rated at 305 kmph. In the Indian market, Lamborghini Urus SUV is competing against Porsche Cayenne, Mercedes Benz G-class and Bentley Bentayga among others.

Exterior and Interior

It's a lot more than just a hopped up Huracan as some internet comments will lead you to believe. The face, tail and even the sides are choc-a-bloc with sharp edges and creases and the production version is actually more aggressively styled than the concept.

The interiors of the Urus are stunning to say the least with mix of Hexagons and Octagons jumping out at you. After climbing in and sitting down in this tall SUV you are greeted with a modern cockpit styled layout. This is further emphasized by the gear/drive mode console selector which is designed like the throttle of an aircraft. Even though when you break down the parts into bits you will find a lot borrowed from Audi's sedan range the Lambo cabin still manages to deliver the drama which starts from the moment when you reach for the start flip open the red cover and thumb the starter.

The Urus is powered by a 4.0-litre, twin turbo, petrol engine that makes 641PS and 850Nm. Power is transferred to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic. Lamborghini claims a 0-100 time of just 3.6 seconds. That's not much slower than even the Huracan and very impressive for a 2.2 ton SUV.
