Q. I am considering buying a Duke 390. I only experienced 125cc which I rode for about a 90km. I decided to buy a 390 because I didn't want something like a 200 or 250 and the 390 is more value for money. It may seem like a lot of power to handle but I realise what kind of death machine it is and I'm willing to commit myself to learning to control this machine. Is it advisable to go for the 390?

Yes. it is advisable. but, I used to rode TVS sport 100cc, which I rode for about 8000km in 10month then I straight headed for duke 390 bs6 model. indeed it is a death machine. but all it matters your skills, safety precautions & passion. if you get this bike, my only suggestion would be, take your time to get to know your bike 1st. some of my friends got panic attack by riding this death machine with me. this bike is not a joke. Follow your desire but WITH SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

If you do have traffic sense... that how to control the bike when there is a traffic ahead or suddenly jumps in front of bike. If you are pretty confident about that... no matter you can also go for 1000CC bikes. As this machine has high Bhp and torque.. this one pulls when you give a bit of throttle. So, Think of all of these factors and make a decision. If you are going for one, Plan for a goof helmet and riding gear (Gloves and jacket atleast)

I donno how old this question is.. but if you already got one.. Happy for you.. if not, Be aware of the road and traffic sense... How would you face the incoming traffic or how would you face a situation when something suddenly appears. Can't take a toll of it right! If you already made up your mind.. Also plan for some riding gears as well (Helmet, Gloves and Jacket).. All the best
