Always try factory defaults. The brakes provided in Star City Plus is excellent. It is called SBT (Synchronized Braking Technology) when you use the rear brake by your right foot both the front and back brakes are applied simultaneously. When you use the front brake, only the the front is applied. The reason why most bikes skid or collapse accidently in slippery roads or during rash driving is due to the lack of knowledge how to use brakes. People often use the rear brake because it is easily accessible with your foot. The correct way to apply brake is to use both the brakes simultaneously. When you brake the rear wheel it stops its rotation, but still the front wheel is free. It causes the back side to slip on the road. I say there is a superstition that if you apply the front wheel, the back side will jump like those who do the wheelie stunt. No, it is not an easy job. Always practice to use both the brakes simultaneously. In order to do so for anybody, and ABS is installed. There are now two options of ABS provisions. Front wheel braking with ABS (Single Channel ABS) and Both wheels ABS (Dual Channel). It has become mandatory to have ABS in all bikes above 125cc (many companies manufacture the first one, that is Single channel ABS in order to reduce manufacture expenses. Star City Plus is only 110cc. So, it is not compulsory in it. Therefore they modified the system to have a non-automatic braking.Whatever it may be TVS Star City plus is a commuter bike, where you can ride it with an optimum speed of 60 kmpl. It is not a sport variant. That is why ABS is not introduced in it. If you need a bike with good performance and with ABS try Apache 160, 180, 200 from TVS.
