Ducati Streetfighter V4 Latest Updates

Ducati India has ridden in the Streetfighter V4 at a starting price of Rs 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom India). Pre-bookings for the Streetfighter V4 had commenced a while back for a token amount of Rs 2 lakh. It arrives in both standard and S trims with the latter priced at Rs 22.99 lakh. Crucially, the Ducati super naked undercuts the respective variants of the Kawasaki Z H2 by Rs 3 lakh. Here are more details on the Italian naked.

Ducati Streetfighter V4 Engine

The 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine was a big turning point in Ducati history when it featured on the Panigale V4. Since then, Ducati has put the same motor into the Streetfighter V4 naked and revised its tuning for the Multistrada V4. On the naked, the V4 motor puts out 208PS at 13,000rpm and 123Nm at 9,500rpm. To harness the raw power, the Streetfighter V4 comes loaded to the gills with IMU-aided electronic rider aids. Besides riding modes, traction control and switchable ABS, the electronics suite also comprises wheelie control, slide control, engine brake control, launch control, and a bi-directional quickshifter. On the standard bike, you get a 43mm Showa USD fork and a Sachs monoshock, both of which are fully adjustable but you have to adjust them manually. The S variant comes with electronically adjustable Ohlins suspension. Adjusting them to your liking is possible by toggling through the controls menu. Both variants get the same top-of-the-line Brembo Stylema calipers with 330mm rotors at the front and a 245mm rear disc with a Brembo twin-piston sliding caliper. While the choice of rubber remains the same on both versions, Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa 2, the S gets Marchesini forged aluminium rims that are lighter than the aluminium cast wheels of the base model.

Ducati Streetfighter V4 Design

Ducati takes its aerodynamics quite seriously. After redefining the sportbike experience with winglets, the Italian firm has gone about generating as much downforce as possible to keep the front end of the Streetfighter sticking to the tarmac. Hence, you get a sleek, angular design with the biplane wings jutting out from both sides of the bike. The front end does look a bit Japanese in our eyes but there’s no doubting the exquisite finish and attention to detail that goes into such an exotic motorcycle. At 199kg (kerb), the Streetfighter V4 is certainly one of the lightest bikes in the class, with an insane power-to-weight ratio.

Ducati Streetfighter V4 Features

All the bits and bobs that you expect to find on a Rs 20 lakh motorcycle are present on the Streetfighter V4. All-LED lighting? Check. A colour TFT screen? Check. Six-axis IMU-guided electronic rider aids? Check. What does seem like a bit of a miss is the Ducati Multimedia System, which is an optional fitment. This accessory fitment unlocks Bluetooth connectivity, music controls, and basic data logging.

Ducati Streetfighter V4 Competitors

The Streetfighter V4 currently on sale in the country primarily rivals the Kawasaki Z H2 and the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS. The BMW S 1000 R is yet to arrive on our shores and MV Agusta needs to find a new Indian partner before the Brutale 1000 can be made available here.

Must Read Questions & Answers Before Buying Streetfighter V4

Q. Which bike is better to buy BMW S1000RR or Ducati Streetfighter V4?
  • Both BMW S 1000 RR and Ducati Streetfighter V4 are brilliant pieces of machinery. While BMW Motorrad has done impressive work with the 2019 S 1000 RR, BMW India certainly seems to have pulled a rabbit out of its hat with the pricing. The S 1000 RR might have lost its sharper styling but it is narrower than before, with a smaller fuel tank as well. This has made the bike easier to straddle and easier to lock yourself onto while cornering. The bike is surprisingly comfortable for a superbike with plenty of room in the saddle. On the other hand, Ducati recently launched its 200PS monster, the Streetfighter V4, in India starting at Rs 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Sure it’s packed with all the bells and whistles but it can be a handful for many. The Ducati Streetfighter V4 is one of the most powerful and mental nakeds in the world. It looks equally deadly, especially in the Dark Stealth option. The phenomenal pricing is just the cherry on the cake. If you are looking for a powerful street-legal naked bike, then the Streetfighter V4 is a no-brainer. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test ride for a better understanding of performance and comfort. Q. Is streetfighter v4 suitable for long ride?
  • Ducati Streetfighter V4 is equipped with an 1103 cc Desmosedici Stradale 90° V4, rearward-rotating crankshaft 4 Desmodromically actuated valves per cylinders, liquid-cooled engine that generates a max power of 208 PS @ 13000 rpm and a max torque of 123 Nm @ 11500 rpm. It has ample power for munching miles with ease and it has comfortable ergonomics too. However, its a bit aggressive riding posture might bother you to take a rest on long rides. Moreover, we would suggest you take a test ride before making the final decision. Follow the link and select your desired city for dealership.
