KTM 250 Duke (2017-2023)
Key Things to Know about 250 Duke (2017-2023)
- Refined and tractable engine; suspension setup is comfortable
- Lacks the signature KTM character, feels a bit too calm, and doesn’t compare with the 390 Duke in terms of features
The 250 Duke feels least like a KTM (within the company’s current Indian line up) thanks to its easy-going engine and comfy suspension. But it’s still a great choice for those who aren’t looking for outright aggressive performance, but want something that is fast enough without sacrificing everyday practicality and comfort.

KTM 250 Duke (2017-2023) FAQs
250 Duke (2017-2023) Key Highlights
Price: KTM offers the 250 Duke at Rs 2,38,221 (ex-showroom Delhi) and the bike is available in a single variant.
Design: KTM 250 Duke takes its design cues from the 1290 Super Duke. It comes with a butch streetfighter design, with striking colour schemes, which still help it stand out among its competitors. The bike has a big 250 decal on the lower part of its fuel tank, with a tiny ‘Duke’ stickering right below it. Its LED headlight is borrowed from the 390 Duke, which makes it look quite premium. The bike sports an exposed trellis frame, which adds to its aggressive stance.
Features: The KTM 250 Duke comes with a fully digital LCD instrument console, which shows you things like distance-to-empty, real-time fuel consumption, and average speed, in addition to the general trove of information. Its tail lamp and turn indicators are both LED units. The bike misses out on a quickshifter, but gets a slipper clutch, along with Supermoto ABS (switchable rear ABS). Its stiff suspension setup makes this streetfighter quite capable across corners.
Engine: KTM 250 Duke is powered by a single-cylinder, 248.76cc, fuel-injected, liquid cooled engine, which churns out 30PS and 24Nm. The motor is linked to a 6-speed transmission and the bike gets a 13.4 litre fuel tank. The 250 Duke is built on a tubular split-type trellis frame, which is suspended on a 43mm front USD fork and a 10-step-preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear (both WP Apex units).
Rivals: In terms of pricing, the 250 Duke rivals the likes of the Suzuki Gixxer 250 and the Bajaj Dominar 250.
Variants: The 250 Duke comes in a single variant with two color options (Dark Galvano & Ebony Black).
