About Honda Amaze 2016-2021

The Honda Amaze is back in an all-new avatar, replacing the five-year-old first-gen model. The Honda Amaze promises to be bigger and better in every way than its predecessor, and also better than its competition. A unique SUV-esque in-your-face boxy design, premium interiors, high-end features, the unique diesel-CVT option and a better ownership experience are what should help the Amaze set itself apart.

Honda Amaze 2016-2021 Overview

Production of the facelifted Honda Amaze has commenced, and the units have started reaching dealerships ahead of its August 18 launch. It will feature a few updates inside out. However, it will continue the pre-facelift model’s 90PS 1.2-litre petrol and 100PS 1.5-litre diesel engines, with 5-speed manual and CVT options.

The facelifted Amaze is expected to command a premium over the current model, which retails from Rs 6.32 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards. It will rekindle its rivalry with the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura, Ford Aspire, and Tata Tigor.

I skipped the upgrade to suv styled non suv nexon, Kiger, Magnite temptation and followed the traditional1route of upgrading from a hatchback to a sub 4 meter sedan honda amaze vx cvt petrol. There are couple of1reasons.Firstly the 1.2 liter cvt engine of honda is a tried and tested no-brainer.This is a future proof engine.Initially i booked1a nexon amt.But decided to pull out when i came across a report by a nexon owner from waynad, Whose nexon amt1stalled suddenly, That too after midnight. It was a struggle even though he got road side assistance and many1similar stalling incidents.Driving experience: the cvt is smooth honda amaze has a very good road presence.The1large front good contributes to this.It definitely doesnt look like a sub 4 meter sedan and the rear design1gives the vibes of a yesteryear honda accord. This car gives a very mature driving feel, It is never in a1hurry, Picking up gradually. The comfort level of the car is good with ample legroom and overhead space.The1adjustable driver seat ensures good road visibility. The contoured bucket seat adds to the comfort. The best1thing about the car is how honda has managed to provide an all rounder without compromising on looks, Comfort,1Mileage along with pricing and honda reliability. The boot space of 420 liters is good.Optimum space1utilization by honda.Worst: as i have mentioned earlier, Honda has tuned this cvt for a laid back driving1experience with comfort, Mileage etc.But this also packs a negative for some, If you expect quick pickup and1adrenaline rush in signal stops and sudden overtaking, The car asks you to relax, The cvt takes its time to1pickup speed. The manual honda amaze should be good with the pickup part. The non adjustable rear passenger1headrest is another con.Honda amaze has a surprising mileage performance.I drive in a highway where most part1of the road is single lane.In such a highway i got a mileage of upto 18 kmpl, The mileage indicator also helps to maintain consistent speed. In city traffic i get anywhere between 13-15, Considering factors like breaking, Speed, Congestion etc.So far the highest mileage i got was 21 kmpl for a 6 am drive of 105 kms.Far better than my hyundai i10 kappa2 2012 model.I have drove for 1.3 years and so far no vibrations or any other issues.Build quality is good with a 4 star crash test1rating.The child rating is only 2.Sometimes you can slightly hear outside noise in traffic.I felt the car1needed more under body cover in the engine area. When i open the engine bay, I get the feel that the engine has1a completely exposed bottom end.I am just nitpicking here :)the after sale support is good so far. They call a1week before service date, To confirm the dates and on time delivery after service.Affordable service costs is1another plus.Final verdict: i accept that it doesn't have many shiny gimmicks that the so called suv styled1non suv cars have, But under the good it's a honda, Well balanced, Mature and reliable in all aspects. In 2022,1If you still prefer the good old sub 4 meter sedan vibes over cars with suv imposer syndrome, Honda amaze is a1good buy.

    Display average

I have honda amaze diesel v variant 2019 interior quality of fiber is great car has done 2 servicing average over all 18km/lit ground clearance is 163(original)mm there is less ground clearance engine sound is ok,pickup is good big problem with suspension it is softer side but more jurk fill in cabin tyre pressure has been filling 33psi always and second biggest problem is more bodyroll and front seats have no thigh support, steering weight not match with high and low speed it is almost hard all the time its fill hydraulic power steering speed limit is 140 and in bumper to bumper traffic clutch fill more hard your left leg has more pain, rear windows glass not goes down completely, if it half open its vibrate closing and opening time and more vibrates on rough roads when driving Difference between display average and full tank Method is 2/3 km per liter on rough roads more body sound and suspension sound come inside Rear seat is more comfortable legroom is more sufficient then other cars but thigh support is biggest issue boots pace is 420 lit more than other cars tyre size is ok 175/65/R15 this tyre is broad but height is less I don't understand its suspension is softer side but why this car fill jurk and vibrates on rough roads you can't get high speed my old zen 2005 lx has more better suspension than this car

    Basicboot space

I purchased Honda on the year it was launched 2013 (Purchased Dec 2013). It's a budget friendly car & gives me good mileage. City 14-16 kmplHighway 18-19 kmplService cost approx 3200-3500 per yearInterior - Basic (Very Simple)Exterior - BasicBoot Space - OKMusic System - Very Good (Simple)Ground Clearance - Ok (Depends on the rider though I drove it in Hills area & haven't yet faced any kind of problem yet)Cons - Chasis is not so heavy so whenever you drive at speed of 100 above & then tries to reduce the speed by switching gear & reduce speed simultaneously in short time it's body gets j****d but only it feels to the driver. I thoroughly studied it & found that due to light weight chasis it gets j****d otherwise it's pick up speed is very very good.

  • Amazing car

Bought my car in december 2021.The petrol cvt model.I get 12.5-14 average. If i cruise under 1500rpm i'll get even 15+, 6000kms done.Waiting for the third service. The seats are a bit harsh, I have not installed any sear covers, Co passengers complaint about the seats being not comfortable. Also the car feels a bit fragile especially when cars pass by.The a good drivers car.Easy to handle and park.I felt for the price the car is decent especially they have improved the aestheics or looks of this car by just changing the front grill and adding minimal chrome works.I've added bucket mats to the flooring which is a good saviour for not having your car dirty.I wish the same was available for the trunk like what's available for honda city.Overall 7.5/10.

    Maintaining mileage

Amaze can"t overcome hills.Low power is main issue I found and it"s only in petrol version.I am also one of the happy customer of Honda until driving a hill or ascent.Amaze can"t overcome ascents. Its the only issue i found since driving 3000km,which is not an acceptable issue. When i contacted Honda they said its handed over to dealer, but the dealer informed Honda that they didn"t find any abnormality in my car which they accepted that Amaze has power issue and its for maintaining mileage once i was there at showroom. And when i asked dealer about their reply to Honda they said its made like that they can"t tell this to Honda,if we want to ride hills we must choose another vehicle and they can"t fit same Honda engine on both boat and car(just imagine my situation hearing this kind of reply from dealers).Really pathetic situation. So, dear brothers and sisters please don"t buy amaze petrol. If you like Amaze go for diesel. All other features in amaze are good.I choose petrol because i am not aware of this power issue and now suffering for my choice. My bad i have test driven Amaze but not on an ascents. When you people ask sales person about this power issue they will reply there is nothing like that, better have a test drive with the same sales person on a hill or ascent and ask him to stop car in middle and then move, you can experience what i was saying about.
