With an expected price range of Rs 15 lakh - Rs 17 lakh, it will be significantly cheaper than the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona EV. The Nexon EVs electric motor delivers 129PS of power and 245Nm of torque. This is a front-wheel drive sub-compact SUV and channels power through a single-speed automatic transmission. The Tata Nexon EV’s 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery has undergone multiple tests before certification, including the nail stab test, fire pool test and overcharging test. With a claimed 0-100kmph speed of 9.9 seconds, it’s one of the quickest sub-4 metre SUVs in the market today. With DC fast charging, the Nexon EV goes from a 0 - 80 per cent charge in 60 minutes. Through AC slow charging it goes from 20 - 80 per cent in approximately 8 hours. The Nexon EV retains features seen in the standard Nexon like a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system, auto AC with rear AC vents and halogen projector headlights. New features, including those derived from the Tata Altroz, include a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster and a new steering wheel.
