A few dealerships across the country have begun the unofficial bookings of the facelifted Tiguan at a token amount of Rs 50,000. The facelifted SUV was unveiled in March and was earlier set to launch in May, but got delayed due to the pandemic. It is now expected to hit showrooms in June 2021.

Taigun water wading depth is very low. When driving through water of around 6” deep, the car vibrates and you feel like the car underbody has hit some stones. I think the ABS is creating that vibration.

It makes sense since the onus will be on VW to provide the spares and service. Tiguan has less sales in India because it is a 5 seater but it is doing very well in US and Europe, so it will not be discontinued. Inany case the parts for Tiguan are manufactured in Germany and they will continue to do so.

It is priced similar to Toyota fortuner or Ford Endeavour, but gives better mileage. The car has a large boot space, but is a 5 seater, with adjustable rear seats. It has 3 way climate control. On a highway it can cruise effortlessly at 150 KMPH with a max of about 210km. It is extremely stable at high speeds and doesn't exhibit body roll like other SUVs. The cornering is also superb, hence a pleasure to drive on winding roads. It has 7 drive modes including snow and off roading. On rough roads at slow speed bumps are felt, but at moderate to high speed it gives a smooth ride. It's large sun/ moon roof gives a feel of open space to rear seat passengers. It's sleek and elegant design is good enough for you to drive a lady to a party. In one word it is the best car under 40 lakhs.

I would recommend the Hyundai Tucson. Have been driving one for 2 years now and its a very comfortable drive both in city and long haul. Plenty of power, holds the road well and the Diesel version gives reasonable mileage too. Have no experience with the Tiguan, but i owned a Passat before i bought the Tucson and one of the downsides of the VW brand is that resale is not easy, compared to Hyundai
