Honda city adas review: the adas on the honda city is a little good and bad.Lets talk about autonomous emergency braking that the honda city calls as collision mitigation braking system.Iam posting this after 6 months of usage on honda city vx cvt post facelift on city roads and highways. It has given a warning on 7 occasions and braked 3 times. One was a false warning and one braking was on a village road with nobody around - released as soon as it braked. The rest were justified.Cmbs is on by default when you turn the car on- you have to turn it off manually every time if you do not want it.Lkas is good.I activate this on highways and it helps me follow the road. When the road turns the steering automatically does.It is disturbing on occasions when there are unruly two wheelers in front, But you can override by turning the steering wheel a little hard- the system lets go with a warning or by switching the indicator. What is funny is that i had turned the lkas off after entering city roads from the highway and when i changed the lane - it gave me a warning of lane change and corrected the steering. The adaptive cruise control is useful in maintaining a steady speed on highways. It slows the vehicle down when a vehicle crosses in front, But surprisingly it does not care about stationary vehicles ahead!! again you have to switch on the acc button and set the speed for it to activate.I was approaching a red signal and some vehicles were stationary ahead of me.Acc did not slow my honda city and i had to brake!!.The lane watch camera is not of much use.It just shows you whatever the left side mirror does - maybe a little wider field at a closer distance.Honda sells the tpms for a steep rs.10k.Should be standard at its price point. It is useful to have though. You only get the tire pressure deflation free which warned me of a puncture without specifying the wheel. The lead vehicle departure warning is a notification when the vehicle ahead departs at a signal or toll booth and is good to have.My overall take: adas is good to have when you are driving a long distance alone, But you need to be extra alert and keep control of your vehicle in your hands.
