Volkswagen Motorsport India has been encouraging young and talented racers for over six years now in India. Now they have announced that a bond has been signed with the Madras Motor Sport Club (MMSC) to run Volkswagen’s Vento Cup series for the next three seasons. Also, MRF will be the official tyre partner for the Volkswagen Vento Cup 2016 season.

The Volkswagen Vento Cup 2016 will continue without any changes in its format. The 10 races divided across four rounds will be held at Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore, Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida and, after a break of three years, the Volkswagen Vento Cup 2016 will be returning back to the Madras Motor Race Track in Chennai. The Volkswagen Vento Cup 2016 will see 20 drivers trading paint with each other on the race-tarmac to achieve the podium position at the above three racetracks.

For the 2016 season, a widespread go-karting programme will also be conducted where a young set of drivers will be shortlisted. Starting from January 20th, the programme will kick off across seven cities. Aspiring drivers can head to any one of the listed go-karting tracks and register for the series. The participants will have to display their driving skills and attain the fastest lap timings at the respective tracks, which along with their registration form has to be forwarded to Volkswagen Motorsport India. The final selection will be carried out in Pune where the top shortlisted drivers will compete against each other.
