From video games to reality, that’s the story of the Nissan Concept 2020 Gran Turismo. Following its virtual debut in the racing video game Gran Turismo 6 and then at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed, Nissan has now brought the Concept 2020 Vison Gran Turismo in flesh to the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show.
Sharp cuts, bug bulky design and generous use of carbon fibre all around make the Concept 2020 Vision Gran Turismo true to its DNA. The concept has been developed by Nissan’s European Design Studios in association with the Nissan Technical Centre in Japan. However, don’t consider the Concept 2020 Gran Tourismo as one of those cars that will never hit production. This concept is rumoured to form the base for the next-generation Nissan GT-R (R36).
In fact, it also has a lot of elements that flaunt the GT-R DNA – like thin headlights, the wraparound windscreen and the large rear diffuser. Like in all the current generation Nissan models, this one too sports a v-shaped chrome grille up front. The concept that was unveiled at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show wore a new Fire Knight red body colour and is a real world reflection of a virtual car.
