Ever since the Superveloce 800 swooned crowds at EICMA 2019, the Italian manufacturer has been pulling off limited edition series of the neo-retro supersport. Starting with the Serie Oro and more recently, the 75 Anniversario, the Superveloce Alpine is the latest to join the club.
Partnering with Automotive Alpine, a French brand with racing history as glorious as MV Agusta’s, the Superveloce Alpine will be limited to just 110 units. Draped in the iconic Alpine blue and silver, the motorcycle flaunts some fine details that sets it apart.
Subtlety seems to be the key here. The lower fairing, air duct covers to the rear fenders, front fenders supports and even the chain guard are carbon fibre. The seat now comes draped in alcantara with contrasting blue stitching. The tank tie and the fairing now sport the Alpine branding. Celebrating the collaboration of the two brands, the bike sports the Italian and French flags on either side of the front fender. The triple clamp is finished in brushed aluminum and with a serial number imprinted on it, and of course a limited-edition certificate of origin to go along with it.
So, is it just a regular Superveloce in new clothes? To an extent, yes. That said, the inline three-cylinder 798cc, liquid-cooled motor now produces 149PS at 13,000rpm, which is 1PS less than the standard model. The torque remains the same at 88Nm, but is now delivered 500rpm sooner.
Given the rich racing heritage of both the brands, you’d expect more, right? Well, there is. The Superveloce Alpine comes with a dedicated racing kit that includes a special ECU and Arrow Racing exhaust system along with a pillion seat cowl and CNC fuel cap. WIth the racing kit, the power bumps up to 155PS.
Fancy owning one? The bike will be available through the brand’s website for select markets and will set you back by EUR 36,300 or roughly Rs 32.42 lakh.
