British carmaker MG Motor is set to kick off its biggest event of the year, the MG Live, at the legendary Silverstone GP circuit. Scheduled to take place over the weekend of 2nd and 3rd June 2018, the 68th edition of the event will feature live music, food stalls, races and over 3,500 of both new and vintage MG Cars.

MG Motor, or Morris Garage Motor, was initially launched all the way back in 1924 and enjoyed a reputation of being sporty yet affordable as compared to other manufacturers at that time. However, that changed in the 50’s, when the company started focusing more on mass-market products. From that period till 2005, the company changed hands eight times, before shutting shop. It wasn’t until 2007 that the British brand was revived by Chinese automaker Nanjing Automobile.

So far the company has still enjoyed a cult-like following thanks to its owner club, which is one of the largest and oldest car clubs in the world. With MG Motor starting its operations in India soon, it is only natural that the company brings the MG Car club experience to India as well. Let’s keep our fingers crossed till then.
