Mercedes-Benz Cuts Ribbon For Two New Outlets In India

In order to further expand its reach in India, country’s leading luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz recently inaugurated twin showrooms on the east and west extremes of the country. While the one in Guwahati is christened Axom Motors, its Ahmedabad counterpart is owned by Benchmark Cars.

Located in Sarusajai, the former is spread across an area of around 36,000 sq ft and will be the sixth outlet for the brand with the three-pointed star in the eastern terrains of India. It will employ around 46 trained staff members with half-a-dozen service bays for maintenance and car repairs.

On the other hand, the latter is spread across around 55,000 sq ft of area and is the 10th Mercedes facility in India under the same dealership name. Situated in the city’s Ambli locality, the outlet features 25 PMGR (periodic maintenance general repair) bays and nine body paint bays. With 72 trained staff, the workshop can handle servicing of 42 cars a day.

Facelifted CLA

With the installation of these two new dealerships, the German carmaker now has 88 outlets across 41 Indian cities. On a launching spree, both in terms of cars and showrooms this year, the manufacturer is reportedly expected to cut the red ribbon for one more dealership before 2016 draws to a close.

In terms of new offerings, Mercedes launched the CLA with a few nips and tucks earlier this month. The facelift starts at Rs 31.4 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). But despite this being the last of the 12 launches that the carmaker had promised for the year, the manufacturer seems to have one last trick up its sleeve for the year.

The Mercedes-AMG C43 will be the company’s last hurrah in 2016, all set to be launched on December 14. The car comes powered by a turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 engine that pumps out 367PS of power and a massive 520Nm of torque, and is expected to carry a price tag of around Rs 65 lakh.
