The 15th edition of the Indian Auto Expo is set to happen from February 7 to February 12 at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida. Plenty of manufacturers will be attending the event, and of these, Kia Motors is one carmaker we’re eagerly waiting to see in action. The Korean manufacturing is currently enjoying success with the Seltos and will soon expand its portfolio in India. It’s set to launch the Carnival MPV on February 5.
Apart from that, here are the expected products from Kia Motors that could possibly be displayed and launched in India in the coming months:
The Carnival is slated to launch on February 05 at Auto Expo 2020. Kia has already teased the India-spec model and it is nothing sort of a looker. It will sit above the Innova Crysta in India and is expected to be priced between Rs 27 lakh and Rs 36 lakh (on-road). It comes with features like electric sliding rear doors, panoramic sunroof, a touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone climate control as well as rear entertainment screens. The India-spec Carnival will be powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine that develops 202PS and 440Nm. Expect it to be offered with a 6-speed manual and 8-speed automatic gearbox.

Another hotly anticipated Kia that could most likely be present at Auto Expo 2020 is the QYI sub 4-metre SUV. The Korean carmaker has already revealed the launch timeframe for the upcoming SUV. Kia has been testing the QYI for a while in India and a close-to-production version might make it to Auto Expo. The QYI is likely to borrow the Hyundai Venue’s underpinnings including its powertrains. Expect Kia to throw in a handful of first-in-class features to distance itself from the Venue. When launched, expect the QYI to be priced at par or more than the Venue, which starts from Rs 6.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
Kia K5 Optima Sedan:
the automobile community
The recently unveiled K5 Optima sedan is Kia’s answer to the Skoda Superb, Volkswagen Passat and Toyota Camry hybrid. Considering Kia India’s ambitious plans, it could showcase the sedan at the event. The K5 Optima comes with sharp exterior looks and a luxurious interior design. Two petrol engines are on offer: a 1.6-litre T-GDI unit and a 2.5-litre T-GDI motor. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and an 8-speed DCT. Kia, we hope this sporty sedan is being considered for the Indian market.
Apart from the above mentioned cars, Kia could be showcasing a handful of cars that could ply on Indian roads later on. Naturally, the successful Seltos will be present at the event. Apart from that, Kia could most like bring the Picanto (Grand i10 Nios equivalent), Rio hatchback (Elite i20 equivalent, Rio sedan (Verna equivalent) as well as the Cerato (Elantra equivalent). We also expect updates on Kia Motors India’s future portfolio, so stay tuned.
