Now, after a chat with Yadvinder Guleria, senior vice president, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI), has confirmed that there are currently no plans of bringing the CBR250RR to Indian shores. Well, if just not that, he also mentioned that even the CBR300R and the CBR500R that were unveiled last year or even the Metropolitan scooter will not make it to India. He had however confirmed that there are other new products that are in the pipeline to be launched by HMSI in the current financial year but hasn’t revealed any details as of now.

With the upcoming BS-IV norms, Honda will be updating the current product range to meet the emission norms as well as also include the AHO (All-time Headlamp On) feature which will soon be mandatory for all two-wheelers in the country. The transition from BS-III to BS-IV is expected to be completed by the end of the year wherein the CB Hornet 160R’s engine is already BS-IV compliant and is only yet to receive the AHO feature.

Scooter only assembly line at Gujarat plant

HMSI is currently concentrating on the volume market and with the new dedicated scooter only assembly line started at the Gujarat plant will see the addition more 50,000 units per month increasing the production capacity to one lakh per month by the end of September. With this production hike, Honda aims to fulfil the availability of the vehicles during the upcoming festive season.
