Affordable sports bikes first came India’s way thanks to Honda, and the CBR250R has been a role model in making this a fun on the run reality for bike enthusiasts in the country. With an already successful year gone by, the Japanese two-wheeler major’s entry level sports touring bike continues to peak sales and we see it isn’t yet past its triumphant and award winning new comer craze phase.
Having won already 20 prestigious awards in its short stint in India, the CBR250R (Read : Honda CBR250R First Ride) added another feather to its cap by winning the India Design Mark award, presented to Honda by Indian Government through Indian Design Council, an autonomous body under Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
Speaking on this achievement, Mr. Keita Muramatsu, President & CEO, HMSI said “We at Honda, are delighted to win the India Design Mark for CBR250R. With 20 prestigious awards, CBR250R is India’s Most Awarded Motorcycle in 2012. As the highest design recognition from Indian Government through I-mark, this only re-affirms customers’ appreciation of Honda’s dedicated efforts in field of designing products high on innovation and catapults India as a high quality global manufacturing base for the world.”
The India Design Mark is a design standard, a trust-worthy indicator of excellence country and adopts the same high standards as its Japanese equivalent. The inaugural India Design Mark (I Mark) awards program was organized with the cooperation of the Japan Institute of Design Promotion, organizers of Japan’s Good Design Award (G Mark).
