Update: Hyundai has launched the new Verna in India. Petrol variants are priced from Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 12.24 lakh. Diesel variants are priced from Rs 9.19 lakh to Rs 12.40 lakh.
After teasing the face of the car, Hyundai now has teased the interior sketches of the next generation Verna's interiors. The sketches show a clean black and beige dashboard design. There's also a healthy storage space under the infotainment system and two cup holders of different sizes in the centre console. The infotainment system in the sketches is the one with a bunch of buttons and a small monochrome screen. This obviously won't be offered on the top trim of the Verna. Higher variants will get the 7-inch touchscreen unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
In the last teaser released late last month, the carmaker revealed the front of the car. The teaser emphasised on the grille design along with the daytime running lights, and the possible inclusion of the projector fog lamps which are also available on the Elantra.

The new Verna may retain the same 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines along with the 5-speed manual transmissions. The 4-speed torque converter automatics available with the 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines may make room for the 6-speed unit currently available in the Creta.
The Verna is expected to launch in August with a competitive price tag thanks to the GST. So far, the Honda City and the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz have been the top dogs in the category. With GST, the Ciaz diesel’s prices have gone up. The Delhi government was otherwise soft on hybrids of all flavours but the GST has turned a blind eye towards hybrids. Delhi is an important market for the Ciaz diesel, and the prices have gone up by about Rs 1.9 lakh, making it an even playing field before the Verna goes on sale.
