Porsche has launched the fully-electric version of its luxury full-size SUV, called the Cayenne Electric, in India at a price of Rs 1.76 crore (ex-showroom before options).
According to Porsche, the Cayenne’s Turbo Electric variant is their most powerful production model ever made and produces up to 1,156 PS of power, outdoing some very thoroughbred supercars like the Ferrari SF90 as well.
Let’s take a look at what it has to offer:
Starting off with the exterior design, Porsche has given the Cayenne Electric distinct styling to differentiate it from the ICE versions of the Cayenne. At the front, it gets a lower bonnet, while the headlamps become slimmer and wider.

Towards the sides, you can see frameless doors, 22-inch alloy wheels and wheel-arch cladding to emphasise the SUV credentials. As for the rear end, It gets a full-width taillamp cluster and a thick diffuser as well.

Notably, the Cayenne Turbo Electric has a neat party trick in the form of active aero flaps on the bumper, which redirect the air flow dynamically for better performance and range.
Inside the Cayenne Electric lies an all-new interior with a tri-screen setup including a digital instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment system and a passenger entertainment screen as well. In addition to heated seats and a steering wheel, Porsche has also uniquely given the Cayenne heated surfaces like the armrests and door panels too.

In terms of the equipment list, the Cayenne Electric carries a lot of technology. At the centre, you have a 14.25-inch OLED digital instrument cluster, a 14.9-inch passenger entertainment display and even a curved centre infotainment screen too. It also gets other features like a panoramic sunroof with ambient lighting, heads-up display with AR technology, powered, heated and ventilated sports seats and a digital key.

Interestingly, buyers can also opt to purchase a Swiss watch customisable to match their own Cayenne Electric.

Porsche offers the Cayenne Electric in two trims- the Cayenne Electric and Cayenne Turbo Electric. The latter is the most powerful production Porsche ever made, with up to 1,156 PS of power and a massive 1,500 Nm of torque, sending the electric SUV from 0-100 kmph in a matter of 2.5 seconds. Here are the detailed specifications of both variants:

Notably, the Cayenne Electric is also capable of 390 kW DC-fast charging, which enables it to add a range of up to 325 Km in just 10 minutes of charging.

Porsche has priced the Cayenne Electric for Rs 1.76 crore (ex-showroom before options), while the Cayenne Turbo Electric can be yours for Rs 2.26 crore (ex-showroom before options). With its level of performance and the price tag, the Lotus Eletre R is perhaps its closest rival, if any.

We did expect the Cayenne Electric to be fast, but this fast? Not at all! With these levels of hypercar-beating performance, and the added practicality that comes with the SUV body style, we do not doubt that it will have issues finding takers despite the hefty price tag.
