Japan Mobility Show 2025: Honda Super One EV Prototype Revealed; A Cool Funky-Looking Electric Hot Hatch!

Alongside the 0 SUV Concept and the 0 Alpha Concept, Honda has also revealed the Super One EV Prototype at the Japan Mobility Show 2025. The tiny hatchback, which gets a four-door layout, packs in clean and classy styling, a minimalist interior and some very clever tricks underneath. Let’s get to the Super One EV then:

Exterior: Cute And Distinctly Honda

Starting with the exterior, the Super One prototype has a cute and youthful design. At the front, you get a silver grille with circular headlamps and DRLs on either side. Below it, you have a boxy front bumper with vertical slats on the sides for better aerodynamics. Notably, the bumper extends further down than usual to maintain the ‘sporty’ feel.

Move on towards the side profile, and you see an upright stance being packed into a compact length. The four-door layout adds practicality while the black roof, flared fenders and side skirts make sure it's taken seriously.

At the rear, too, it blends the cutesy proportions with sporty intentions with a black hatch and a large roof spoiler. The taillamps are present just above the bumper in the form of two LED clusters with DRLs running on the outer edges. You also have aero flaps and a diffuser here too, asserting the ‘seriousness’ of the performance on offer.

Interior: Minimal But Premium

Inside, you get a black-white theme with blue accents for contrast. The dashboard has a tall and flat layout with a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system taking the centre stage. It also gets a digital instrument cluster, although we don’t have the details of its size or graphics yet. The steering wheel design carries on with the classy theme with a circular profile and two-spoke design. 

Being a born EV, it gets a flat floorboard, which increases the versatility. The gearshifter is in the form of a cluster of buttons on the dashboard itself to give a clean and sleek look that doesn’t compromise on functionality.

Features: Some Clever Tricks!

While Honda has not revealed details of the equipment list, it has confirmed a Boost Mode, which provides extra power and torque temporarily whenever engaged. It also gets clever 7-speed gear shift simulations along with artificial exhaust sounds from the speakers to bring in some of the charm of internal combustion engines.

Other features it is likely to be equipped with include a touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, electronically-adjustable outside rearview mirrors, and steering-mounted audio controls. In terms of safety, it is likely to get multiple airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, traction control system and a 360-degree camera. 

Powertrain: Electrifying

Honda is yet to confirm the powertrain details of the Super One prototype, although it is likely to feature multiple battery pack options and get a maximum range of 350-400 km. It could be powered by a single electric motor making around 120-150 PS of power.

Is It Coming To India? Disappointing News

Honda has been tight-lipped about its India launch for now, and honestly, we don’t see it making way to India just yet. Honda could price the Super One somewhere between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh if it ever makes it to our shores.

That said, an India launch is a distant possibility at best with the Super One going on sale in markets like Japan, the UK and Southeast Asia from next year onwards.

For now, only the Honda 0 SUV and the Honda 0 Alpha SUV are confirmed for an India launch.

The Super One looks like a properly fun and quirky machine that can achieve some crazy performance figures, too. While the size is perfect for India, the costs and a small EV market could become prohibitive for Honda to launch it here.
