Hi, I live in Perth, Western Australia and we've got heaps of vehicles that run on petrol. In saying that, I doubt that a diesel version of the Civic is available.Cheers

  • Q. Is it worth buying this vehicle for the kind of price? Which is the best variant for daily commute of 30 Kms and as well as occasional long drives? How much is the ground clearance of this vehicle - Civic?

This is worth it but I would say this vehicle is for pleasure and good for long drive. It's not suitable for daily commute and even ground clearance is bit low. Considering Indian road breaker it would almost hit every breaker though the built is strong. If you are looking for daily commute, in my opinion don't go for it.

Honda Civic is available with two powertrain options - a 1.8-litre petrol engine and a 1.6-litre diesel. The petrol engine will be mated to a CVT only for a maximum output of 141PS and 174Nm, while the diesel is good for 120PS/300Nm and will only be offered with a 6-speed manual.

  • Q. Does the Civic comes with the Old B series engine or is there any upgrades to the engine. Is it a SOHC i-vtec or a DOHC vtec?
    Zigwheels
    Zigwheels | 9 months ago

We expect it to be powered by an updated version of the 1.8-litre motor seen in the older model that was discontinued in 2012. In the old Civic, this engine produced 130PS and 172Nm and came mated with a 6-speed manual or a CVT with steering-mounted paddle-shifters. Meanwhile, Honda will offer the 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine with Civic. However, whether it will sport the CR-V’s automatic gearbox or a manual gearbox remains to be seen.

Honda Civic is likely to feature the 1.8-litre i-VTEC petrol along with the 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine from the new CR-V. Powering the Honda Civic is going to be a 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine that churns out 120PS of power and 300Nm of torque with transmission duties being handled by 6-speed MT and 9-speed AT. The petrol powerplant is likely to be the 1.8-litre i-VTEC naturally aspirated motor that generates 141PS of power and 174Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed MT or a CVT with paddle shifters.
