Latest On Suzuki Burgman Street
Suzuki India launched the Burgman Street at Rs 68,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) on 19th July 2018. The Japanese scooter is powered by the same 124cc motor seen on the Access 125. Unveiled at the Auto Expo 2018, bookings for the Burgman Street have already begun and one can book it for Rs 5000 at the nearest Suzuki two-wheeler outlet.
The Burgman Street gets a maxi-scooter-like styling with a large windscreen and LED headlamps laid out on the front apron. It's not an outright maxi-scooter but does look larger than the Honda Grazia. Much like the properly big maxi-scooters seen internationally, the Burgman Street also gets an exposed handlebar, while the all-digital instrument console is placed on the front apron, sitting between the handlebar and the windscreen and a generous 21.5-litres of storage. The floorboard space is ample, with a hook under the seat to mount small bags.
In typical maxi-scooter style, the rider seat area is slightly tapered while the pillion seat section seems broad and comfortable. The rear gets a single piece grabrail and an LED tail unit with integratedside indicators.
Since the Suzuki Burgman Street shares its motor with the Access 125, it too produces 8.7PS at 7000rpm, with peak torque of 10.2 Nm generatedat 5000rpm. Power to the rear is transferred via a CVT gearbox.
To tackle bad roads, the Suzuki Burgman Street gets telescopic front forks and a monoshock unit at the rear. Similar to the Access 125, the Burgman Street too gets a 12-inch front and 10-inch rear alloy wheels. Braking is managed by a disc brake up front and drum unit at the rear. As an added safety measure, Suzuki also offers a Combined Braking system.
The Suzuki Burgman Street will rival against the Honda Grazia, the TVS Ntorq 125, the Vespa SXL 125 and the Aprilia SR 125.
