Key Things to Know about RC 390

Upside
  • The most powerful bike in its segment, rev-happy engine, ride-by-wire offers precise throttle inputs
Downside
  • Committed riding posture, instrument console looks dated, stiff ride quality
Expert's Conclusion

If you're looking for a light, powerful, sharp-handling sportbike that'll help you hone your skills, the KTM RC 390 makes perfect sense. However, the bike's committed riding posture means it's more suited for track than road. And in that case, you could consider the TVS Apache RR 310 which has been significantly improved post its BS6 update.

Mileage too low

KTM RC 390 is a perfect sports bike with a attractive appearance for today's youth. it comes with a 373cc engine which gives very powerful performance on highways. the mileage is around 23-25kmpl which seems low to many riders. the pricing is also a major concern as it is Higher than expected. the fit and finishing could be more better.

Incredible performer but uncomfortable

I have a bs6 390 duke and I thought that is mind blowing until I got to ride the first generation bs3 390 and it feels like that bike has twice the power of the bs6. The performance and look of this bike is just incredible but is not comfortable. The engine is versatile and excitment but finishing is not good. The outstanding performance of this bike gives great ride without any heating issue. It is absolutely fun to ride bike and is it gives sporty ride.

great value for great model

The KTM RC 390 is a powerful and aggressive supersport bike that's perfect for experienced riders who love exhilarating performance and sharp handling. It's not the most comfortable bike for long rides . It provides me a mileage around 25 kmpl in the city and up to 30 kmpl on the highway. The RC 390 has a claimed top speed of over 170 kmph which is perfect me to race with on highway with my friends .

Q. Which one should I buy Ninja 400 or KTM RC 390 or BMW 310 GS?
  • All three bikes are good in their own forte. The 2022 Kawasaki Ninja 400 is priced at Rs 4,99,000, ex-showroom Delhi, which is the same price as the previous-gen bike. Mechanically, the Ninja 400 is identical to the older model, carrying on with the 399cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine with 45.3PS and 37Nm on tap. The 2022 Kawasaki Ninja 400 will come with a twin-LED headlamp and a semi-digital instrument cluster. If we talk about RC 390, while maintaining its sporty nature, KTM has also managed to make the 2022 RC 390 a bit more practical when it comes to everyday riding. This is done via a wider clip-on handlebar, redesigned split (and more cushioned) seat setup and a larger tank to better grip with your knees. On the other hand, improvements to the engine, suspension and brakes have significantly enhanced the overall riding experience of the baby GS. It feels more polished, is more capable off-road, and has better equipment for an asking price that’s not only cheaper than before but also much more affordable than the KTM 390. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test ride for a better understanding of performance and comfort. Click on the link and select your desired city and brand for dealership details.

The engine comes mated to a 6-speed transmission aided by a slipper clutch. Moreover, the reliability of a bike depends on the care and timely maintenance.
