After riding the Honda SP160 for about six months mostly in the city, I can tell it’s basically a Unicorn dressed in gym clothes it1looks beefy with those tank extensions and that signature ‘M’ tail light, but underneath, it’s built1purely for comfort rather than racing. The 162cc engine is incredibly refined; you can potter around in 3rd gear at low speeds without any knocking, and1while it runs out of breath past 95 kmph on the highway, the mid-range punch is perfect for quick overtakes in1traffic. I’m consistently getting around 48-50 kmpl in real world conditions, which is a huge plus, and the1suspension is soft enough to eat up bad potholes without breaking my back. The single long seat is a blessing1for pillions compared to the split seats on other 160s, though I honestly find the LED headlight throw pretty useless on dark roads and the gear shifts can1occasionally feel a bit notchy. Overall, if you want a no nonsense, reliable daily driver that feels like a1big bike but handles like a stress free commuter, this is the one to pick.

After riding the Honda SP 160 for more than a year in both daily and highway conditions, Iam sharing my genuine pros and cons which I1have facedPROS: 1. Great mileage—it gets about 52 km/l when travelling at 60 to 70 km/hr. 2. There are hardly any vibrations1and the engine is buttery smooth. 3. Both the pillion and the rider find the wide seat to be comfortable. Very1comfortable for long rides. I have had no problems riding close to 200 km in a single day.4. Excellent overall1refinement and comfort for daily highway travel and commuting.CONS :1. The slim front tire lacks confidence when travelling more than 90 km/hr. 2. The headlight is not strong1enough to be used at night. 3. Occasionally, while shifting, the gear stuck. 4. The plastic around the fuel1tank feels cheaper. 5. Lack of dual channel ABS.

Must Read Questions & Answers Before Buying SP160

Q. Does it come with dua channel abs?
  • The Honda SP160 comes equipped with a single-channel ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), which is applied only to the front wheel. This system helps prevent the front wheel from locking during sudden or hard braking, improving control and reducing the chances of skidding, especially on slippery roads. However, the rear wheel does not have ABS, meaning it can still lock under aggressive braking. While single-channel ABS provides a basic level of safety suitable for daily commuting, it is not as effective as dual-channel ABS, which operates on both wheels. Overall, the Honda SP160’s braking setup is reliable for city use but offers moderate safety compared to more advanced systems.
