Price: BGauss D15 is offered as a single standard variant and it prices at Rs 1,17,999 (ex-showroom, including FAME-2 subsidy).
Design: The BGauss D15 comes with an old-school moped-like styling, with its big 16 inch alloy wheels and also the main stand. It comes with a circular headlight, with a ring-like DRL surrounding it, all enclosed within a chrome bezel. Its instrument console also gets a chrome outline, along with chrome accented grab handles. Being the flagship e-scooter from the manufacturer, BGauss D15 comes with a spacious floorboard, along with a generous, well-cushioned, single-piece seat, which is targeted at those buyers who seek comfortable longer-distance commutes, apart from the shorter city ones.
Features: BGauss D15 comes with all-LED lighting, with its modular battery and motor being IP67 rated, making them both waterproof and dustproof. Its entire body is made out of rust-proof metal, with it also being India’s first e-scooter to come with a rollover sensor and a side-stand sensor. The D15 comes with an apron-mounted USB socket and also has a limp-home mode, two riding modes, reverse mode and also an anti-rollback (hill-hold) feature. The e-scooter comes with a fully-digital instrument console, with IOT connectivity through a smartphone. The BGauss App provides bits of information like vehicle’s battery health, remaining charging-time, distance-to-empty, a service prompt, an anti-theft alert and nearby charging-station availability. The D15 can also receive firmware updates, readily through the BGauss mobile app.
Motor: The BGauss D15 is powered by a hub-type electric motor, which is powered by a 3.2kWh (60V 55AH), IP67 rated, waterproof battery. The D15’s motor produces 3.1kW peak power and 110Nm of peak torque, and the e-scooter gets an ARAI certified range of approximately 115km. BGauss claims a 60kmph top speed and a 0-40kmph run in 7 seconds. Its detachable battery fully charges in around 4 hours, using its quick charger, through a simple 6A wall socket. The D15 is built on a tubular steel frame, which is suspended on a telescopic front fork and 3-step-preload-adjustable twin rear shock absorbers. Braking is handled via drum units at both ends. The bike rolls on 16 inch alloy wheels, which get wrapped in tubeless tyres. The e-scooter comes with a seat height of 765mm, a decent 175mm ground clearance and it weighs 109kg (kerb).
