Price: BGauss B8 is offered in six paint schemes and it comes in a single variant when it comes to mechanicals and features. The e-scooter is priced at Rs 89,699 (ex-showroom India, including FAME-2 subsidy).
Design: The BGauss B8 comes with a conventional yet sharp and sleek design with premium fit and finish levels. The brushed metal finish on the rear-view mirror enhances the e-scooter’s premium quotient. The switchgear comes with a premium looking aluminium finish. It gets a sizable grab rail and the pillion footrests come integrated into the bodywork.
Features: The electric scooter comes with all-LED lighting and a colour digital instrument cluster, which shows bits like speed, odometer reading, battery level, riding mode prompt, battery level prompt, and functionality faults. It gets Bluetooth connectivity for navigation and has Geo Fencing, along with other IOT features. You get a luggage J-hook and a small cubby hole on the front apron too.
Motor: The BGauss B8 is put to work by a 1.9kW brushless DC electric motor, made by Bosch. It churns out 94.6Nm of peak torque and makes the EV achieve a 50kmph claimed top speed. The motor is run using a 25.2Ah/1.45kWh lithium-ion battery, which is removable and can be charged via regular power sockets at home. The battery is also IP67 rated, providing both water and dust resistance. BGauss claims a full charging time of 3 hours for B8’s battery pack. Underpinnings on this e-scooter include telescopic front-forks and dual rear shock absorbers. Braking is done via front and rear disc brake units, with CBS coming as standard. The alloy wheels on the B8 are 10 inch units, which come wrapped in 90-section tubeless tyres.
Rivals: The BGauss B8 rivals the likes of premium e-scooters such as the Bajaj Chetak and TVS iQube. It also competes with the Revolt RV400, which is an electric motorcycle.
Variants: BGauss B8 is available as a single standard variant and comes in six colours, namely Mint Green, Nebula Grey, Pearl White, Silk Red, Sparkling Blue and Zed Black.
