  • Tata Tiago: Compact Yet Functional

I picked up the Tata Tiago recently for daily city commuting and it has been a mixed bag of experiences. On short trips, the 1.2 liter Revotron petrol engine showed off its decent performance. It handles city traffic smoothly. The rear seating is a bit cramped for taller passengers and the 242 liter boot space is limited for weekend getaways. It also felt slightly underpowered on the highway specially when compared to the Maruti Swift.

  • structured practically

Quite a practical structure with an enough capacity for five-seven members, the Tata Tiago ranges from a decent price range. Transmission type is automatic, making it easier to drive. Best part about it is that it has a NCAP rating of 5. This adds much credibility to the model. Height is convenient and the ground clearance is also good. It is a wonderful four wheeler model. Quality and comfort levels are unmatchable.

  • I Have Driven The Vehicle

I've driven this vehicle for over 100,000 kilometers, and it's still performing well, especially with its powerful engine. However, I've faced issues with the service center and persistent engine light problems. While the mileage is decent, I find the engine noise and vibrations excessive for a petrol car. Overall, it's a good vehicle, but with drawbacks like costly service and uninterested service partners.

    I purchased TATA TIAGO XTO

I purchased tata tiago xto in november-23.Till date overall driving experience is very good.5 person travelling is good and also as a driver i feel more comfortable then other 3 car i driving.External body's build quality is very good but for inside plastic material is not upto standard. It making minor noise always. There will be engine noise in cabin area due to 3 cylinder engine but it is manageable. While reversing there is noise from front tyre.Same problem in all tiago model as per my observation.Car mileage is good.On highway around 25-30 without ac and 18-22 with ac.In trafic area it is around 15 with ac.As per experience after sales service is not good.In second service they only washed car and given back without solving any complain. For invoice copy i have to reach 3 times to sales person.Overall car experience is good in this budget.Upto 7 lac.

  • drive in the city with grace

Its powerful engine delivers great power and performance. The maintenance of this car seeks a bit of attention, time and cost but it is definitely worthy of all the appreciation. It is available in many variants and colours. My experience at the showroom as well as the buying process was also quite good and i would recommend this to all.

  • My Daily Commute in the Tata Tiago

It is been over two years since I started driving the Tata Tiago and it is turned out to be a decent city companion. The 1.2 liter Revotron engine is zippy enough for my daily city commutes providing a reasonable mix of performance and fuel efficiency usually around 20 kmpl which is fantastic for my budget. However the noise insulation could be better.Yet for someone who needs a reliable budget friendly hatchback for city driving the Tata Tiago makes a strong case with its affordability and practical features.

Must Read Questions & Answers Before Buying Tiago

Q. Which car is better Hyundai Grand i10 Nios or Tata Tiago?
  • Both cars are great in their own forte. Hyundai cars are packed with features to the brim; and as per the Nios’ competition and price range, it’s well equipped. The pre-facelift’s highlighted features included a smooth-operating eight-inch touchscreen system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless charger, automatic AC, and rear AC vents. New additions like automatic headlamps, cruise control, a tweaked instrument cluster, a USB Type-C fast charger, and blue footwell ambient lighting add to the convenience and make it better to be seated in. The Grand i10 Nios is still known for its stylish look, premium cabin, refined and smooth engine, and good drive quality. On the other hand, The Tiago comes with a decent feature list including a 7-inch touchscreen system that works well, Android and Auto/Apple CarPlay connectivity, and is paired with an 8-speaker (4 speakers, 4 tweeters) setup which sounds very good. If you are someone who prefers using voice commands, Tata has taken care of that as well in the Tiago. The Tiago, like all Tatas, has a comfortable ride quality. It absorbs potholes and rough surfaces well and keeps the cabin away from the harshness of the surface. Inside the city, the broken roads and speed breakers are dealt with with ease. To accommodate the 100 extra kilos in the boot, the rear has been stiffened a bit and it can be felt on the sharper potholes, but the ride mostly remains stable and comfortable. Moreover, we would suggest taking the test ride so that you can feel the comfort. You can click on the following link to see the details of the nearest dealership and select your city accordingly.
Q. Which one is better Maruti Suzuki Ignis Zeta AMT or Tata Tiago XZA?
  • Selecting between the Maruti Suzuki Ignis Zeta AMT and Tata Tiago XZA AMT would depend on certain factors such as your budget, fuel type preference, maintenance costs, usability, etc. The Tata Tiago would be a better pick as the hatchback boasts brilliant build quality and the 4-stars in Global NCAP speaks highly about safety. But if you are looking for a small car with attractive styling, decent ride quality and brilliant build quality then it could be a good option. On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki has given the Ignis Zeta variant a feature upgrade that includes a Smartplay Studio 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system which was exclusive to the top-spec Alpha variant. If you are looking for a great little quirky car that packs in a lot then the Ignis would be a great option. For a better understanding of compatibility and driving comfort, we would suggest you to take a test drive.
