Expert's Opinion on RV400
Overview

- The Revolt RV400 is an electric commuter motorcycle which offers to be an electric alternative to commuter bikes in the 110-125cc segment. But does the electric motorcycle manage to offer the kind of performance that’s needed? Here’s what we think.
Design

- The Revolt RV400 gets a sleek and modern-looking design, which is similar to what we see on a typical commuter bike
- The fuel-tank shaped battery housing makes the bike look like a petrol-powered bike
- A tyre hugger as standard instead of the long tail section would have been a good addition
Performance & Mileage

- The instant rush of torque combined with the sharp throttle response in the Sports mode makes the bike quite fun to ride
- The Normal and Eco riding modes offer milder throttle responses, and are pretty good for more relaxed riding
- Overall, the RV400 manages to offer performance at par with a 110cc petrol-powered bike
- The lack of engine noise makes the bike feel like it lacks character. The onboard speakers, which mimic an engine’s exhaust note, doesn’t manage to give a similar feeling
Handling

- The bike handles quite well and the slim profile makes it easy to cut through city traffic at ease
- The light weight of 115kg makes it easy to handle
Ride Quality

- The preload-adjustable monoshock makes it easy for riders to adjust the settings according to the rider’s preference.
- The stock suspension setup is stiff, although this results in sportier handling, it makes it harder to ride through bad patches of the road
Comfort & Storage

- The Revolt RV400 has a decently cushioned seat, which makes it quite comfortable for the rider
- The low seat height of 814mm and the narrow seat profile make it easy for shorter riders to get their foot down
Features

- The bike gets smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth and a 4G-enabled SIM card.
- Offers ride stats, battery health data and the option to find the nearest swap station
- The e-bike also gets geo-fencing which adds an additional layer of safety
Verdict

- The Revolt RV400 is a simple, no-nonsense electric commuter which can meet all your needs. The modern design, good performance and relatively affordable pricing make it a good choice if you’re someone looking to switch to an electric bike from a conventional petrol-powered one
RV400 Pros and Cons
- With a lightweight kerb weight of just 108kg, city maneuverability becomes effortless
- Impressively, it offers a generous ground clearance of 220mm, equivalent to that of the Hero XPulse 200
- The removable battery adds convenience to the charging process, and there's an affordable financing scheme available, setting it apart from any other offerings in the market
- The throttle response can be a bit abrupt, particularly when in Sport mode
- Initially, e-bike’s availability is limited to select cities
- Additionally, the quality of certain plastic components may feel somewhat flimsy
The Revolt RV 400 represents a significant stride toward embracing electric mobility in the demanding Indian market. It boasts a contemporary design, a relatively affordable price point and the assurance of cost-effective operation. All of these factors position the Revolt RV 400 as an excellent choice for individuals seeking a hassle-free, environmentally friendly commuter motorcycle designed for urban use.
