Mercedes-Benz is easily India's largest luxury car maker. The German brand has achieved this feat by offering not just world-class products but also world-class after sales service experiences to its customers. In a bid to ensure the brand continues to stay at the top of the ever-growing luxury car segment in the country, Mercedes-Benz has been working continually towards expanding its service network as well. The brand has just inaugurated its sixth state-of-the-art service workshop in this calendar year, in the city of Mangalore. The new workshop is located on the Bangalore highway and was inaugurated by Santosh Iyer, VP, After Sales and Retail Training, Mercedes-Benz India and Sharath Vijayaraghavan, Executive Director, Sundaram Motors.
Speaking at the event, Iyer said, "Mercedes-Benz aims to drive service excellence in the luxury car segment and the inauguration of this state-of-art workshop underlines our customer centric approach. We believe increasing service satisfaction will determine a luxury brand’s success in the market and facilities like Sundaram Mangalore underscores our competitive edge. Sundaram Motors' Mangalore workshop has integrated the novel 'Digital Service Drive', which is a key element of 'My Mercedes, My Service' initiative."

Sundaram Motors’ facility is spread across a massive 27,237 sq. ft. The facility will be manned by a team of 15 professionally trained personnel, and the total cost of setting up the facility in just nine months' time has been Rs 5.50 crore. The workshop can service 150 cars a month. The workshop is also equipped with the innovative new ‘Digital Service Drive’, which aims to reduce turnaround time and offer higher transparency through use of tablets, for fast and convenient processes, and new-age communication channels, such as video-calling. Mercedes-Benz has already foot-marked 86 outlets across 40 cities, becoming the only luxury car maker to have achieved such a feat.
