Teaser image reveals a slightly smaller silhouette than the Levante with circular headlights up front.
Likely to borrow cabin features from the Levante.
Expected to be offered with an internal combustion engine, hybrid and all-electric powertrain options.
It will be made at the same Cassino factory in Italy where the Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Giulia are produced.
Maserati has had a busy turn of events as of late with the Quattroporte getting a spicier Trofeo variant and the long-awaited debut of the MC20 sports car at the ‘MMXX’ event. But there’s more coming from the carmaker as a new SUV called the Grecale was officially teased at this event. This will be the second SUV from Maserati after the Levante.

The teaser image reveals a slightly smaller silhouette than the Levante crossover which further confirms that it sits below the Levante SUV. While the teaser image conceals a lot of the upcoming SUV, you get a glimpse of the circular headlamps up front. Expect the traditional Trident and grille on the lower half of the front end.

While interior images are yet to be revealed, the Grecale is likely to borrow some features from its larger sibling, the Levante. Feature highlights include a 17-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system along with an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ventilated and heated front seats, steering wheel heating, rear sunblinds as well as reverse camera.

We do not have technical details as yet but we do know that Maserati will be offering all its latest models with internal combustion engine, hybrid and all-electric powertrains. Expect a spicier Trofeo variant to make its way to the Grecale at a later stage.

The Maserati Grecale will be produced at the Cassino factory in Italy with a global debut in 2021. This is the same factory where the Alfa Romeo Stelvio SUV and Giulia sedan are produced. Expect it to rival the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Porsche Macan and the BMW X3.
