Mahindra’s Quanto has not done as well as the Indian SUV manufacturer had expected. This is mainly because of the fact that the Quanto looks quite ungainly as compared to everything else in the market from the SUV manufacturer, and also because it looks similar to the Mahindra Xylo. Now though, a heavily facelifted version of the car has been spied for the first time.
For starters, the new Nuvosport thankfully looks nothing like the Quanto did. The new car gets sharper headlamps and an eyebrow-like DRL setup with a sharper and slimmer grille that has been combined with a much larger intake area in the lower half of the front bumper. You also get new wheels and a new side cladding along with updated tail lights. One of the biggest differences though is that the new bonnet is much sharper and higher than the Quanto it follows.

On the inside, the new Nuvosport will get an updated interior that has been heavily impressed by other Mahindra SUVs. The new SUV will get new seats and updated upholstery along with a new double DIN touchscreen infotainment system and cruise control.

In terms of engines, the new Nuvosport will get the 1.2-litre petrol engine that you also get in the KUV100, along with the 1.5-litre diesel mill that has been doing duty in vehicles like the TUV300 too. The new car will also come with an AMT gearbox option on the diesel making it a practical and sensible alternative for someone who wants a compact SUV with no-nonsense practicality but with the ease of use you get in an automatic.
Expect prices for the car to range from Rs 5.5-8.5 lakh and go up against the likes of the Ford Ecosport, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Mahindra’s own TUV300.
