Ferrari has delivered on its promise to make the last – the 500th – LaFerrari. This was done not at the request of some billionaire, but to help support the victims of central Italy in the aftermath of the devastating earthquakes of 2016, which snuffed out 300 lives. The 500th LaFerrari was auctioned for $7 million, making the car the most valuable 21st century automobile ever sold at an auction.

All proceeds from the auction will go toward reconstruction efforts in the areas affected by the earthquake.
