UPDATE: Lamborghini Huracan Performante Launched in India at Rs, 3.97 crore, ex-showroom Delhi
Lamborghini has officially announced that it will launch the latest and greatest variant of the Huracan, the Performante, in India on April 7. First revealed at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show not too long ago, we expect it to be priced around the Rs 4.2 Crore mark,ex-showroom.
The Lamborghini Huracan Performante currently holds the fastest lap record for a production car around the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife at 6:52.01, beating hypercars like the Porsche 918 Spyder, Mercedes-Benz AMG GT R and even its bigger brother, the Lamborghini Aventador SV.

Sure, the Huracan Performante looks the part - the large fixed wing is proof that this is no ordinary (if you can call it that) Huracan. Other signs that this is a special car include the new front splitter, the Aventador S inspired 'snake-fang' front bumper, the new side-skirt with larger cooling intakes, the dual exhaust placed higher up the in the rear bumper and the new diffuser.

The Performante gets, in Lamborghini speak, 'Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva' (ALA) or active aerodynamics in simple terms. The system goes beyond using movable aerodynamic surfaces to affect downforce. It uses a set of flaps in the front splitter and a rear wing to effectively 'aero-vector' the car.

The ALA, combined with a lighter overall weight (reduction of around 40kg), and more powerful naturally aspirated, 5.2-litre V10 motor (30PS/40Nm more than the LP610-4) has helped the Performante achieve the fast lap time at the Nürburgring. While its top speed of 325kmph is nowhere close to the Aventador SV's 350kmph+, it accelerates from 0-100kph in just 2.9 seconds (0.1 second slower), has a lower kerb weight (by 143kg) and has better handling characteristics thanks to its smaller footprint.

On the inside, the Huracan Performante gets air vents, paddles, door handles and centre-console surround made of forged composite - the same material used extensively to reduce the dry weight of the car overall. The digital cockpit displays have a special screen to display how the ALA system is working to improve downforce or reduce drag.
