It is a day of celebration for Jehan Daruvala, an Indian Formula Renault driver who has been considered to join the renowned British Racing Drivers' Club (BRDC). The exclusive motor racing club is home to the most successful drivers from Great Britain and the Commonwealth. Jehan has been selected to be a part of the club’s Rising Stars programme. It is a big step for the 17-year-old racecar driver’s career to be invited to the prestigious club from Mumbai.

Getting selected by the BRDC can be easily considered highly impressive as the club is very selective about providing memberships. The club, till date, has a membership count of only 850 which signifies the exclusivity of being selected. The club is known for selecting only the best of the individuals who have a proven track record under their name. Formula1 driver Lewis Hamilton MBE and Alex Lloyd are two of the most notable successes from the Rising Stars scheme’s history.

Commenting on the occasion, Jehan Daruvala, said: "I am honoured & grateful to be a part of the BRDC Rising Stars. The club over the years has had numerous illustrious members & I am certainly proud to be a part of this. I am thankful to everyone who have been a part of my journey so far."

In Britain, Grand Prix is licenced to be held only at the Silverstone circuit which is being maintained and operated by BRDC, where young driving talent has been nurtured for many years.
