After providing mass mobility solutions to the world for over five decades, Honda Motor Co.has breached the 100 million unit milestone in 2017

The Accord is the first car Honda started making outside Japan

Honda Motor Co. has been providing mobility to the masses since 1963, the year Honda rolled out its first vehicle, the T360 mini-truck. In 2017 the Japanese carmaker announced that it has breached the milestone of making 100 million automobiles globally. Since the sixties, Honda has expanded its manufacturing operations across the world. Its presence can be seen everywhere from the Americas to regions like China, Europe and of course India. Honda, pursuing the establishment of a flexible and mutually complementary manufacturing system across its 34 facilities across the world, was able to reach the 100 million units' milestone due to initiatives taken in this respect.

Takahiro Hachigo, the president, CEO and representative director of Honda Motor Co. Ltd., said, "Thanks to the support from our customers around the world, Honda was able to deliver 100 million automobiles. The passion of our company founder who wanted to help people in their daily lives and pursue the joy of driving has been inherited by Honda associates as the original starting point of Honda automobile manufacturing. Striving to meet the next 100 million customers, Honda will continue delivering increasingly attractive products

The Jazz, known as Fit, is another global car from Honda

The T360 mini-truck as we mentioned before was the vehicle that Honda kicked off its automobile production. It also happened to be the first mass-production model from Honda. In the same year, Honda started making the S500 compact sports car at its Hamamatsu facility. Next year, Honda built its first plant for automobile manufacturing in Sayama City. The new plant began making the S600 compact sports car.

The BR-V is a region-specific model from Honda

In 1967, Honda started making the N360, Honda’s first small-sized vehicle. In 1969, Honda began making the N600 small-sized passenger car and TN360 mini-truck in Taiwan. In 1982, the company began making the Accord sedan in Ohio, US. The car became the first to be produced by a Japanese carmaker in the US. Since then, Honda has been hard at work increasing its cumulative production volume, while enhancing the product lineup. Some of its global models include Accord, CR-V and Fit (known as Jazz in India). It has also developed regional models to accommodate the needs of the region where such models are sold. The honda Brio and Amaze being classic cases in point..
