Eighth Edition Of Maruti Suzuki Dakshin Dare To Commence On July 31

Further strengthening the motorsport culture in India, Maruti Suzuki is back with the eighth edition of Dakshin Dare, scheduled to start on July 31. The event will witness the participation of record-breaking 110 team entries. After the scrutiny check and doctor’s briefing is completed, the event will be flagged off from Bengaluru on July 31 and will complete its course on August 6 in Goa. During these 6 days, participants will be navigating through some of the scenic terrains of Coorg, Murdeshwar and Shimoga. The Southern rally has been split into five legs and will have the rally cars covering an overall distance of over 2000km in those six days.

Commenting on the momentum of Dakshin Dare, Vinay Pant, asst. vice president, marketing, Maruti Suzuki said: “The journey of Dakshin Dare has been more than overwhelming since its inception in 2009. The Southern landscape is undoubtedly scenic, but nothing gets better than a rally against it in the tough terrains. It fills us with immense pride to witness a property becoming a brand in itself, and the participation numbers are indicative of the same.”

This edition of the Maruti Suzuki Dakshin Dare will again witness the participation of Suresh Rana, who has won the Raid de Himalaya nine times and Desert Storm three times. He will face competition from Sandeep Sharma, who is the defending champion in the Ultimate Car category, and Jagmeet Gill and Chandan Sen, champions of the TSD category. The event will also have the participation of Bani Yadav, who is well known for her past wins in the Raid-de-Himalaya, Desert Storm and Autocross. Split into three categories, selected participants will be seen competing against each other in the Ultimate Car category, Ultimate Bike category and Endurance category.
