Datsun redi-GO Sport Launched At Rs 3.49 Lakh

Datsun India had previously launched the redi-GO, an entry-level hatchback offering that received a good response since its launch. The redi-GO is the third product to be introduced by Datsun in India and is based on the CMF-A platform used by the popular Renault Kwid. The redi-GO was available in five trim options and is now available with an additional ‘Sport’ trim option that carries a sticker price of Rs 3.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The ‘Sport’ variant is available for the festive season and is placed above the current top spec ‘S’ variant of the redi-GO. 

On the exterior, the car gets prominent racing stripes on the hood extending towards the back and on the sides. The honeycomb design of the trapezoidal front grille gets a red contrast highlight, while a blacked out treatment has been given to the chrome bezel surrounding the grille. A similar blacked out treatment has been given to the lower scuff plates of both bumpers and wheel caps. 

The sportiness of the exteriors continues in the interiors as well. The ‘Sport’ variant of the redi-GO receives a Sporty dashboard, black interiors with red stitching. It also gets Bluetooth connectivity, remote keyless entry and rear parking sensors to make reversing into tight spaces easer.  

Under the hood, the ‘Sport’ variant of the redi-GO is powered by the same 799cc three-cylinder motor that produces 54PS of power and 72Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox transmitting power to the front wheels. 

The Datsun redi-Go Sport is available in the three colour options of Ruby, White and Grey. In the entry-level hatchback segment, the Datsun redi-Go competes against the likes of the Renault Kwid, Hyundai Eon and the Maruti Suzuki Alto.
