Fiat India has unveiled a ‘new’ Punto in India. But it isn’t really new. It is in fact the original Punto that was launched in India in 2009 at a more affordable price point in order to appeal to a larger target audience who want a cheaper car that is still large both on appeal and in size. In essence, the Fiat Punto Pure will go up against the likes of the Nissan Micra Active.
The Fiat Punto Pure will be available in two variants, a petrol and a diesel. The petrol engine is a 1.2-litre FIRE 4-cylinder engine that makes 68PS of peak power and 96Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine on the other hand is a 1.3-litre motor which makes 75PS of peak power and 197Nm of peak torque. The new Fiat Punto Pure will only be available in one variant on both cars and will come well equipped with the likes of alloy wheels and a Bluetooth enabled infotainment system.

The petrol powered car is available at Rs 4.49 lakh and the diesel is priced at Rs 5.59 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new Fiat Punto Pure will be available in showrooms immediately and will be accompanied by the Fiat Punto Evo which was launched in 2014.
