The Volkswagen Polo, when it launches this year is set to take the small car segment by absolute storm.

But the Polo isn't just coming to India in the hatchback form which it is popular for in Europe. Based on the same platform as the hatch, the sedan or more appropriately, the notchback version of the Polo is also on track for a 2010 launch. While this saloon will carry a different name than the hatch, it will offer the same engine and transmission options. Expect the1.6-litre TDI diesel mill under the hood and price competitive to the Ford Fiesta and the Honda City.
