It's been well over a year now since the Skoda Karoq SUV was taken off the shelves in India after the 1,000 CBU units were sold out. While company director Zac Hollis in an earlier video interview did mull over the possibility of the Karoq returning as a locally assembled model, it seems that’s not going to happen anytime soon. Hollis recently ruled out on Twitter any chance for the premium compact SUV coming back to the country.
The last known price of the Karoq was Rs 24.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

The Karoq is available in a single trim, featuring an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital driver’s display, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, and auto headlamps and wipers. Taking care of passenger safety are nine airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, electronic stability control, and hill start assist.

Powering the SUV is a 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine (with a 7-speed DSG) delivering 150PS and 250Nm. 0-100kmph takes nine seconds, and its top speed is 202kmph.

India isn’t getting the Karoq back soon, but the facelifted SUV will debut abroad on November 30. If it does return here, expect the updated model to show up.
On the domestic front, it seems Skoda’s got its hands full for 2022, starting with the facelifted Kodiaq’s launch in January, followed by the Slavia in March.
