
VLF Tennis e-Scooter India Launch This Festive Season: Italian EV Brand VLF Entering India With A Local Manufacturing Plant

Italian EV maker, VLF (Velocifero) has announced its entry into the Indian market and will establish its manufacturing facility in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. It has partnered with KAW Veloce Motors Pvt Ltd to handle manufacturing and distribution. The brand will be launched in India during the 2024 festive season (likely between October - November) along with its scooter, the VLF Tennis.
The VLF Tennis is available in 1.4kWh and 2.8kWh battery pack variants, with peak power outputs of 1.5kW and 4kW respectively from the motor. The 1.4kWh variant gets a claimed range of 60km and a maximum speed of 45kmph while the 2.8kWh variant gets a claimed range of 100km and and a top speed of 100kmph respectively. Suspension setup consists of a telescopic fork and a monoshock while braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends. The electric scooter gets a TFT instrument console, three riding modes: Eco, Comfort and Sport and an LED headlight and taillight.

The Italian EV maker will mostly target tier 1 and tier 2 cities and plans to have 15 dealerships operational by the end of 2024, eventually scaling up to 50 dealerships by the end of the current financial year (March 31, 2025). The top-end variant of the Tennis e-scooter with the 2.8kWh capacity battery pack will rival the likes of the Ather 450S, Ather 450X (2.9kWh), Ola S1 X (3kWh), Ola S1 Air, Bajaj Chetak 2901 and the TVS iQube (3.4kWh).
