Weekend rides are a perfect way to release stress and be around your favourite things: the bike, the road, biker buddies and food. And then there are rides that give you a story to take back home. Our recent ride with Reise Moto was definitely the second kind.
It was just a weekend ride which brought together riders from Mumbai and Pune to the misty green hills of Lonavala. The ride began at the Reise Moto store in Pune, at 7 AM. I rolled in on my KTM 390 Adventure. Seven other riders were already there, and the parking lot looked cool with bikes like the Xpulse 210, Himalayan 450, TVS Ronin, Super Meteor 650 and more. After a quick route briefing by the organisers about the route and some chai and interaction with fellow riders, we flagged off at 9 AM.

We spent the first leg crawling through Pune’s traffic, but the moment we hit the highway, we rode with the wind. The best part is that there’s a short twisty section near Kamshet that adds a bit of fun to the otherwise plain straight highway. It just adds more flavour to the ride – and the good conditions of the road were like a chef’s kiss.
However, the biggest highlight wasn’t the destination; it was who we met there. After we arrived, we got a chance to meet Ranvijay Singha there. We had a quick but fun interaction with him and his love of motorcycling. He spoke about how he got into riding, his first scooter, the most exciting trip and more.

Since the ride was with Reise Moto, riding gear was an obvious topic. Ranvijay talked about how the gear scene has changed since the early 2000s; the safety has improved, and gear is now available in different varieties depending on your riding style. He also spoke about how Indian brands like Reise are providing great quality riding gear from India to the international market.
After that we had a hearty and delicious lunch – what’s a good ride without good food, right? With a full belly and a happy heart, it was time to head back home. Back through the twisting, winding ghats and the open highway to Pune. The conversations and the stories from the day made this much more than just another weekend ride with plenty of stories.
