After a three-year hiatus, the Need for Speed (NFS) franchise is back with its latest chapter that takes racing back to the streets. Development for the new game is being led by Criterion, the same firm that is responsible for birthing legendary NFS versions including the 2010 Hot Pursuit and 2012 Most Wanted.
NFS has a knack for offering modifications that knows no limits, and with its ‘Unbound’ moniker, we expect the scope for customisation to be really unbound. It has taken a new animated approach in terms of the overall outlook of the game, with both characters and cars having a cartoon-like appearance.

The graphics imitate the graffiti seen on the streets, giving a very vibrant vibe to the gameplay; at least that’s what we could decipher from the trailer. It is gonna be unlike any previous NFS offering to say the least.
ASAP Rocky, a hip-hop and rap artist further enhances the street-cred of the game with his exhilarating, head-bumping soundtracks and an immersive storyline with his custom Mercedes 190E. Of course, street racing is an illegal activity (even in-game) tackled by the ubiquitous cops and police chases that amp up the chaos factor of the open-world game.
Expect a whole host of cars to be present in the game right from mainstream manufacturers like Ford and Volkswagen to exotic ones like Bugatti and Aston Martin. The game has been under development since 2020 and will be available on new generation platforms, including Playstation 5, XBOX Series X| S and PC, starting from December 2. The game is already available for pre-order online.
