Mercedes-Maybach models in India are the epitome of luxury and are available in multiple forms including ICE and EVs, sedans and SUVs. On March 17, 2025, the German car manufacturer will be launching the Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series, the sportiest Maybach ever! So, what makes the SL 680 special? Let’s find out:
Design-wise, the SL 680 Monogram Series looks gorgeous and has a very sleek design. Up front, you get the premium Maybach grille and bumper which looks plush. You will get tired of counting the number of Maybach logos on the bonnet and lower section of the bumper. The red and black dualtone paint gives it a nice and exclusive look and the angular and sleek LED headlights add to the sportiness quotient.

From the sides, It sports large 21-inch alloy wheels that have a royal touch to them. It gets an exclusive soft top with Maybach badging all over it. The rear is not full of Maybach logos but gets Maybach lettering instead. The LED tail lights have a sporty charm to them and you get chrome accents around the diffuser.

The two-door sports car will be available in two primary shades - white and red. Both colours come with a contrasting black shade.

The interior of the SL had a more sportier scheme with AMG-specific bits, but in the Maybach, it is more luxurious with plenty of Maybach-specific bits on the steering wheel and upholstery. The dashboard is dominated by the large vertically oriented 11.9-inch infotainment and 12.3-inch digital driver’s display.

It delivers what you expect from a Maybach - a feature-rich premium cabin. Apart from the above-mentioned screens, it gets amenities such as powered seats with memory functions and multi-coloured ambient lighting. Mercedes is yet to reveal its entire features list and customization options, but we believe that the Maybach SL 680 will be available with plenty of interior themes which you can choose as your taste and liking.
Coming to the most important parameter - the engine. The Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 is powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine which makes 585 PS and 800 Nm, and is capable of sprinting from 0-100 kmph in around the 4-second mark! Power is sent to all four wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission. It has an electronically limited top speed of 259 kmph.

Being a Maybach, the suspension setup has been tuned for a more comfort-focused ride. It comes with a different exhaust system, and an extensive sound insulation and absorption package. In short, the Maybach version will ensure a calmer and more comfortable drive when compared to the AMG SL.
The Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series is expected to be priced at around Rs 3 crore (ex-showroom). It does not have an exact rival in the segment but according to its price tag, it will rival the likes of the Lotus Emira, Porsche 911, and Audi RS e-tron GT.
The Maybach SL 680 brings in a great blend of sportiness and top-notch luxury. It comes with the sporty attributes of the AMG SL while elevating the experience with exclusive Maybach finishes inside and outside. What do you think about a luxury sports car? Let us know in the comments section below.
